Provecho Food Truck: A Bite of Mexico in Phoenix
Hello Flavor Chasers,
If you're craving authentic Mexican flavors with a fresh, locally sourced twist, Provecho Food Truck is a must-visit in Phoenix! The name itself—"Provecho"—is a warm invitation to enjoy your meal, and trust me, you'll want to savor every bite.
The Provecho Experience
Nestled right outside Barcoa Agaveria, Provecho feels less like just a food truck and more like a permanent fixture in the Phoenix dining scene. Whether you’re wrapping up a cocktail-filled night at Barcoa or simply need a solid meal break between rounds, Provecho is there—posted up, ready to deliver bold flavors and fresh ingredients like it’s their life’s mission.
And we can attest—this taco truck adds an effortless street-food charm to the Barcoa experience. The patio seating makes it way too easy to pair tacos with tequila (because honestly, why wouldn’t you?), and the electric energy of downtown Phoenix serves as the perfect backdrop.
The Perfect Taco & Tequila Pairing
One of the best parts of this experience? The natural harmony between Provecho’s food and Barcoa’s tequila and mezcal selection. So far, we’ve only tried one drink from Barcoa—the Mezcalrita (which, by the way, was dangerously good—but that’s a convo for another post). And what do you pair with a Mezcalrita? Tacos, of course!
We stopped by Provecho back in March while checking out Barcoa during Arizona Cocktail Weekend. Tacos were calling our name, and with à la carte options at $5 each or a combo of three for $13.50, we dove in headfirst—each ordering a trio to savor the full flavor lineup.
Our picks?
🌮 3 quesabirria tacos
🌮 2 carne asada tacos
🌮 1 pollo asado taco
And boy ohh boy—we were not ready for what hit us. We thought we were about to get standard, good-tasting tacos—something respectable, but nothing mind-blowing.
Turns out, what we got was something so much better.
Flavor explosion.
Freshness overload.
Cinco de Mayo in yo mouth—in the month of Marzo!
So Good, We Had to Run It Back.
Not gonna lie, at first, we weren’t sure if the tequila had just enhanced the flavors (y’all know how that goes), or if the tacos were actually that good. So, we had to spin the block the following weekend—and guess what?
The food was still AMAZING.
For us, Provecho officially set the taco bar for authentic-tasting Mexican cuisine in Phoenix. Period.
If your tacos ain’t coming with Provecho-level intensity, we don’t want ‘em.

Why we love Provecho
Let’s be real—food has changed a lot over the past 10–15 years. When we first moved to Arizona more than a decade ago, it felt like everywhere we dined had either good or excellent food. Sure, there were a few spots that made us question their survival, but even the misses weren’t a total loss.
Fast forward to today? The decline in food quality is undeniable. Since the pandemic, so many beloved restaurants have closed their doors, and truly great food feels harder to find.
That’s why Provecho is a reminder—a wake-up call, if you will—of what great tacos are supposed to taste like.
The carne asada? Juicy, tender, full of smoky char-grilled goodness.
The corn tortillas? Freshly made, slightly chewy, perfectly balanced.
The salsa bar? Absolute magic—every sauce complements the tacos effortlessly, they’re the usual range of mild, medium and hot.
It has been what feels like forever since we’ve had tacos this good. That’s why we keep coming back. That’s why we love Provecho.
